The Winter Solstice ~ 2021

The Winter Solstice is the time of ending and beginning, a powerful  time to contemplate your immortality. A time to forgive, to be forgiven, and to make a fresh start. A time to awaken.

~Frederick Lenz

On Tuesday, Dec. 21st, 2021, once again the sun will travel its shortest path through the sky, giving us the shortest day and the longest night of the year. Winter begins. Holiday lights shimmer and glow, reminding us that  we are once again celebrating our inner light as well as the light of Nature. The vibratory energy of the seasons allows us to reflect and go within to rediscover our own inner radiance and release any inner darkness that no longer serves us.

Pandemic living may make this more difficult. However, there are ways to amplify our own vibrations so that we may deeply align with the positive energy of the changing season and the changing times. Then we may share the  radiance with others. This may be the year to keep it simple and self-reflect as you engage in self care.

I would like to share a few suggestions that have inspired me this season.

Morgan Garza (Soul Magic) suggests:

—Burn a list of things to release — such as negative feelings, unwarranted fears, and anxieties. Say goodbye gently to each item as you read them, then tear the paper and toss it into a fire.

—Invite the light back into your life — choose creative activities that make you feel illuminated. Give back and share your blessings with others. This               clearly enhances the light within. Bask in sunlight. I live up north but  still love to bundle up, find a seat on a flat rock on a hillside and turn my  face to the sun.

—Nourish your body with warm foods and spices — vegetable and bean stew is my favorite.

—Light a giant log in the fireplace — it does not have to be the traditionalYule log. We live in the north but on relatedly warmer evenings we burn wood in our outdoor fire pit and share warm drinks and snacks with our friends (this also reduces the risk of transmitting the virus).

—Bless the holiday tree — this does not have to be a real decorated tree in your home. I love to bring in pine or spruce branches to decorate and enjoy their fresh soothing scents while giving thanks to Nature for  filling our home with fragrance. Choose ornaments from the heart that make you smile.

Yoga teacher Andrea from Heart Space Yoga reminds us that it is time to slow down.

“This is why we do yoga. Yoga helps to bring us in contact with that which is most REAL within. Get in touch with YOUR SELF, and everything on the outside will flow with more clarity and ease. The order of manifestation originates in the subtle unseen spaces of feeling, sensation, and imagination and then grows outward to become our lived reality.

So, I encourage you. If you are feeling thrashed around by life and like you just can’t catch up? STOP. Get quiet. Ground into the earth and settle. As you sink deeper into yourself, become the one who is watching all the effort and movement. Be still like the cold ground outside your door.

Let go and KNOW.”

REMIND YOURSELF DAILY:

You are already ENOUGH

Who you are is NOT a mistake!

Who you are can never be measured.

Your value is innate.

You do NOT need permission to take care of yourself.

You don’t need excuses either.

Don’t wait for outer circumstances or other people to “prove” or show to you your worth.

Give to yourself what you long for from others.

What you want most deeply, will always be YOU! Your pure and true inner radiance.

This is what will never die. It is who you are, and who you always have been.

You are all of this and so, so much MORE…..

AND

You are never alone.

Make it all an offering. LOVE THE LIFE YOU LIVE.

BE YOU, because “ALL OTHERS ARE TAKEN”.

With love, respect, and infinite encouragement”

~Andrea.

HAPPY SOLSTICE TO ALL

  1. Great advice! Love the part about writing down the things we want to let go of onto little pieces of paper and throwing them into the fireplace…. new season, new energy.
