  • A walk in Nature
  • Breathing practice 
  • Gratitude practice
  • Loving Kindness Meditation
  • A restorative or very gentle yoga class. It is best to attend a class if you can. For home practice try Restorative Yoga DVD with Sudha. www.sudhalundeen.com
  • Acupuncture and massage
  • Body Scans or Yoga Nidra – This practice through visualization and deep relaxation can greatly help to ease pain. There are many CDs available. I especially like Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra by Jennifer Reis, Before Sleep 1-Beginners Spoken Guided Meditation by Jason Stephenson and specifically for Pain Relief – Sleep Hypnosis for Pain Management by Michael Sealey.

All of the above are on YouTube and all have helped me with falling asleep and pain control. It is best to listen to one on a regular basis for several weeks. Michael Sealey has many other sleep hypnosis CDs. If you prefer a woman’s voice try Guided Sleep Hypnosis with Rasa Lukosiute or Hypnosis to Heal, Energize and Strengthen Intuition with Life.
